Our History

Nicholas Christofi has experienced first-hand the birth, growth and development of the pool soles and installation business in New Jersey. Nicholas came from the small island of Cyprus when he was 15 years old. Not speaking a word of English, he took a job in a diner as most Greeks did in the 1960’s. He was determined to live a better life and took the leap into the pool business when he could not take the night off from the diner to bring his family to church for Easter.

Nicholas explains that when he branched off to found his own pool company, he literally installed his first pool by referring to the installation manual in the back of his van. Though he started with the basics of pool installation, he has grown the Nicholas Pool name over 40 years to be the leader in the industry.

A personal moment of pride for Nicholas was when his daughter, Theordora, and his son-in-law, Sotiris Sergiou assumed control and ownership of the business, continuing with the core values set over forty years ago.

Today you can expect the same level of professionalism and dedication to customer service. Nicholas Pools as been voted “Best of the Best” in the Pool and Spa Industry for the last five years by the readers of the Asbury Park Press.

Nicholas Pools has seen a lot of changes in the industry and the marketplace over the last forty years. That experience and devotion has placed Nicholas Pools in the forefront of the Pool and spa industry in central New Jersey today and the future.
